Ingredients:

  • 1 flank steak about 1 pound
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 plantains, peeled and sliced lengthwise
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 8 slices crispy cooked bacon
  • 4 sandwich rolls, sliced and toasted

Instructions:

Season the flank steak generously with salt and black pepper

Grill or pan-sear the flank steak until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare

Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly

Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat

Fry the plantain slices until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side

Remove and drain on paper towels

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and chopped cilantro to make the aioli

Mix well

To assemble the sandwiches, spread a generous amount of aioli on each toasted roll

Layer sliced flank steak, Swiss cheese, tomato slices, lettuce leaves, crispy bacon, and fried plantains on the bottom half of each roll

Top with the other half of the roll and serve immediately
